Guidelines for Selling Used Wedding Dresses and Bridal Accessories

At Encore Bridal, our goal is to make the process of selling your bridal attire as easy and fast as possible. We accept new and gently used bridal gowns, and bridal accessories (ex. veils, hairpieces, crinolines, petticoats, shoes, handbags, jewelry etc.). Consignment guidelines are as follows:

*Bridal gowns must be less than 3 years old; however, we will consider older
gowns that have a classic style.

*The minimum accepted retail value for wedding gowns is $2000.00 per item. A copy of your receipt of purchase for your gown is requested, but not mandatory.

*All items must be in excellent condition and cleaned. You can either have your wedding dress cleaned yourself, or we can clean it for you. Our experience has been that many professional wedding gown cleaners do not sufficiently remove stains and dirt. We have a partnership with Forever Treasured to provide full gown cleaning, spot cleaning and/or hand pressing. Forever Treasured is an eco-friendly cleaner endorsed by green peace and the owner is a textile conservator specializing in wedding gowns, antique fabrics, and restoration. Forever Treasured has been in business for 28 years and is among only a handful of cleaners in the USA that cleans each gown individually by hand, uses water based solutions, and works hard to remove all stains and dirt. Cost for Encore Bridal customers is at a significantly discounted rate of $190.00 for full cleaning and $80 for spot cleaning and pressing.

*Please send pictures of the items you wish to consign with details regarding the size of your wedding gown, your street size when worn, designer, style number, the retail price you paid (do not include alterations, bustling, shipping, etc…), any wear, tear or damage to the item (please check hemline carefully) and whether or not your wedding dress has been professionally cleaned. *Once your wedding dress and/or bridal accessories have been approved, you may either ship your item to us, drop it off, or in some instances, arrange for us to pick it up.

*The consignment selling price is the price that has been agreed upon by the seller and Encore Bridal and is based on the original cost of the item, style, age, and condition. Typically, we deduct 25-35% off the original price for items that have never been worn, and 40-60% off items that have been worn. The price may be reduced by 10-15% every 60 days.

*You will receive 60% of the sale price of your wedding gown and 50% of the sale price of your bridal accessories for sales within the first 90 days of being posted to Encore Bridal's online store.  You will receive 50% of the sale price of you wedding dress and 45% of the sale price of your bridal accessories after 90 days.  We will notify you after the sale, and will send payment via check or other agreed upon method on the 10th of the month following the month of the sale.

*Because WE CARE about women, women’s issues, and the community, we donate a portion of our profit from each sale to charities supporting cervical cancer education and research.
