It was December 2002 when the search began for the perfect wedding gown. After years of being known by friends and family as the “go to gal” for her fashion sense, Julie was searching for the designer gown of her dreams with beautiful fabric, quality craftsmanship, and cutting-edge design. Her hopes faded when a tireless search in upscale bridal boutiques yielded beautiful dresses at beyond-the-budget costs and salons with lacking customer service. She began to look into pre-owned wedding dresses at bridal consignment shops in Los Angeles and on discount bridal websites. To her dismay there wasn’t a bridal consignment shop to speak of in LA and the discount bridal websites didn’t carry any pre-owned wedding dresses from her favorite dress designers. In the end, she purchased her dream wedding dress for significantly more than planned and had to sacrifice in other areas.

Through conversation with other brides, Julie found she was not alone in the problem of finding affordable coutur gowns. In addition, she found many women who wanted to sell their gowns to current brides to pass on the love and share in their cost. By “marrying” these two issues, Encore Bridal was born as a way to help brides purchase wedding gowns and bridal accessories without sacrificing quality and style or service. At the same time, Julie’s dream of owning her own business was fulfilled. Every pre-owned gown is personally inspected by Julie to ensure it is an authentic designer gown and in “ready to be worn down the aisle” condition. Brides appreciate her enthusiasm, her design sense, and commitment to customer service.
